Catt's Shaw is a designated ancient woodland through which cattle graze. The white-flowered plants in the foreground are pignut (Conopodium majus), seldom seen in large quantities like this and themselves an ancient woodland indicator. The plant has roundish swollen roots like small chestnuts, long sought after by country people, which are edible and good.
