Although only a few miles from the North Sea it flows west to join the River Derwent which also goes west to join the River Ouse which when it joins the River Trent becomes the River Humber and eventually reaches the North Sea. which was once called the German Ocean which came from the Latin "Oceanus Germanicus" another reason for Britex
