The Twelve Apostles, Catacol

Uploader's Comments

This attractive row of whitewashed houses is known as The Twelve Apostles, though at one time it was known as Hungry Row as families were relocated here from remote crofts, and did not take to this form of living, finding it difficult to make a living hence the name. Most left to find more familiar surroundings and many of the houses in this row were empty. Now they look to be much cherished dwellings judging by the neatness of their appearance and of their well-tended gardens.
