Roundabout, Peasedown St John

Uploader's Comments

The Peasedown St John bypass (the A367, right) rejoins the line of the Fosse Way which runs through the village (back to the left), and heads down Dunkerton Hill (ahead, with The Prince Of Wales pub visible). This is the view I ended up with after trying to follow bridleway BA 19/30 from the end of White Ox Mead Lane. It ends at a fence above the steep cutting into which the roundabout has been inserted. The bypass didn't appear on the map I was carrying, one of the first Explorer Maps to be published. Obviously in the intervening twenty years nobody's bothered to do anything about where the bridleway should go. Warning - if you're following it on horseback, don't canter.
