Hare Hill House, Littleborough

Uploader's Comments

Now owned by the local authority, the house was once a private residence. It was here that on the 17th October 1854 Sybil "Queenie" Fenton Newall was born. In 1908 she won the gold medal for ladies' archery in the London Olympic Games. Being aged 53 years and 275 days she was, and remains, the oldest woman ever to win an Olympic gold medal.
