Coptcleugh and valley of Sedling Burn

Uploader's Comments

Essentially this is now an upland farming scene with the farm at Coptcleugh and its enclosures giving way to surrounding rough pasture. Years ago however the valley of the Sedling Burn was a major centre for lead mining and lower in the valley the remains of the industry abound; the photograph itself in fact was taken from old mine heaps (grassed over) and a little to the north of an old mine road.
