Black Hambleton, North Yorkshire

Black Hambleton trig pillar

Uploader's Comments

Nearly at the highest point on Black Hambleton at 399m with a panoramic view over the Vale of Mowbray towards the distant Pennines. Immediately above the trig pillar is the long whaleback of Great Whernside around 35 miles away, to the right of that is Buckden Pike and right of that again is Penhill, its sharp profile overlooking lower Wensleydale. Not seen on this shot, but visible from this point is the trio of Great Dun Fell, Little Dun Fell and Cross Fell in the northern Pennines, Cross Fell being 55 miles distant.
