This channel leads off from the Chichester Channel to allow access to Chichester Marina via a stop lock. I believe this channel has to be regularly dredged to maintain a sufficient depth for boats to navigate in and out of the marina. Deeper draught boats have to wait for high tide to be able to enter or leave as the tidal range is quite considerable here.
