A Royal Corps of Transport landing craft on the beach. En route, via South Uist, from its base at Rhu to St Kilda. Loading supplies and 'passengers' here before setting out for an overnight journey to St Kilda in 1967 [see [[514323]] and [[1404433]]. No GPS in those days, so the location and direction of view may not be precise, but thanks to Des Colhoun for information confirming my recollection that we did in fact depart from the pier near here.
