Woburn Abbey viewed from across Basin Pond. The house has been the home of the Russell family since the sixteenth century, in the late seventeenth century the family was raised to a dukedom with the fifth Earl becoming the first Duke of Bedford. The present title holder being the 15th Duke of Bedford. The house and parkland was opened to the public in 1955 by the present duke's grandfather the 13th Duke.
