Barsalloch Point, Carlisle

Steps leading up to Barsalloch Fort

Uploader's Comments

This view of the steps is taken from a raised beach which was washed by the sea during the last ice age. The now grassy cliff was once a sea cliff pounded by the waves. People have lived on the top of this cliff from 6,000 years ago to as recently as 2,000 years ago. It's a hard climb to the top!
