To the south of Southorpe, the Hereward Way was diverted in 2006 by Peterborough City Council. It seems strange to see notices hereabouts from Peterborough City Council when there is not a house in sight. This is the view seen looking away from the new route as it heads towards the small wooded valley of Southorpe Bottom, on the left here, through which flows the White Water Brook. In the distance, named like something out of a children's book, is Badger's Spinney.
