Taken from the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Islay from Kennacraig as we sailed down West Loch Tarbert. The castellated and castle-like Dunmore House is an impressive sight in its elevated position above the northwestern shore. The tower part on the right has no roof, but it looks to have new iron girders (not seen on earlier aerial photos), so perhaps it is intended that it will be reroofed.
