The Murray Library building

Uploader's Comments

The library was established in 1908 with monies left by David Murray of Anstruther who wanted a library built and a snooker hall with two billiard tables to help keep the young men of the town out of public houses in order to give them educational and recreational benefits. The library moved to the town hall in 2006 and the building is now running as a hostel and the snooker hall has been converted to provide business units for the creative industries.
