Cuthbert Cottages started out as The Green Man Inn. It was later transformed into a hotel and restaurant before becoming The Highwayman Inn rock pub/club. The Highwayman closed in 2003 and lay derelict for ten years, before being bought by Amos Homes and redeveloped for housing.
