Water is collected high in the hills, in Lochan na Lairige ("Loch of the Pass"), and fed through this pipeline to Finlarig Power Station on the shores of Loch Tay. In total, the water falls 415 metres, the biggest drop out of all the Scottish hydro electric schemes.
