This Grade II pub got its name in 1835 but the building predates this (back to the turn of the century). It has English Heritage Building ID: 263130. The unusual settlement name -Huish Episcopi - derives from the lands or household ("huish" from the Old English hiwisc) and episcopi meaning belonging to the Bishop of Wells.
