The Cole is one of the main rivers that runs round and through Birmingham. It rises not very far to the SW of here, in the area around Wythall and Birch Acre, and flows generally north through Yardley Wood and Sparkhill, around the north side of Garret's Green and out towards Coleshill, where it joins the Blythe and then the Tame.
