Robin Hood's Well, Derbyshire

Stone seat, Longshaw Estate

Uploader's Comments

From above Little John's Well, on the track way south from Longshaw Lodge, a series of grit stone steps rise up the hillside to end at this stone seat. Sheltered in a small rocky "alcove", the location of the seat provides a splendid view across the Longshaw Estate and over to the Hope Valley and Sir William Hill. Cut in the stone behind the seat is the date Dec 1830.
