The Preaching Cross at St Oswald's church

Uploader's Comments

This cross is thought to date from the 17th Century. At the top there is a sundial dated 1825, but unfortunately the brass plate showing the time is no longer extant. Careful inspection of the photo will show that that the gnomon (the slanting arm which casts the shadow) is still in place.
