The minor road northeastward from Barton-le-Willows to Crambe becomes a track north of level crossing on the Scarborough to York railway line. The footpath to the left goes NNW to Pasture House, then forks to go west to Barton Hill and northeasterly to Whitwell-on-the-Hill.
