Holbeck Wood, North Yorkshire

Relief bridge over the Holbeck

Uploader's Comments

The beck (of the same name as one in Leeds, but unrelated) is an artificial drainage channel feeding the River Ure nearby. This bridge appears to be to provide a way over it when the parallel road bridge is flooded - see [[5509871]]. [[384306]] shows the same bridge from the side. [[839499]] shows the cattle grid within the bridge that prevents animals using it.
