East Cleugh, West Lothian

View from the clearfelled Gladsmuir Hills

Uploader's Comments

The forest overlooking Kitchen Rig has been cleared to make room for more wind turbines. The viewpoint on the Gladsmuir summit is in the historic county of Midlothian, now administered by West Lothian Council, a sliver of Lothian that drives a wedge westwards between the two council areas of Lanarkshire. Prominent on the hillside, beyond the valley of the Kitchen Linn and the A71 Kilmarnock-Edinburgh road, are the buildings of [[150643]] and to its right on the skyline the masts of the broadcast transmitters at Black Hill in [[NS8264]] and Kirk o' Shotts [[NS8563]] - although they appear side by side they are some 3km apart. More turbines are already in operation to the right.
