Uploader's Comments

The village lock-up was constructed in 1819 and was designed to incarcerate up to three people overnight prior to their being brought before the magistrate the following morning. It was built using materials from a market cross which dated from the 15th. century. The market cross area was refurbished in 1999 and was unveiled by the late BBC radio presenter John Timpson.
