Danby Low Moor, North Yorkshire

Old quarry at the moor edge

Uploader's Comments

One of several disused quarries on the moor edge to the north of Castleton. There is no sign here of decent quality stone, whilst a search of old OS 6" maps reveals another nearby as a silica quarry, so one assumes this one was for the same purpose.
