I assume that this name is a corruption of "Beneath the hill". Even if not, it was a very welcome stop on my return from the cloud-enshrouded Ward Hill (the highest point in the Orkneys), seen behind. Especially as I had over two hours to wait for the next ferry back to Stromness.
