The large green at Little Chart Forstal has a number of attractive houses around its edge including The Old Granary which was the home of H. E. Bates, author of The Darling Buds of May. This is Coldham Oast, which is just to the east of The Old Granary. The road on the left is the route of the Greensand Way, as well as the Stour Valley Walk.
