Central Wood, Gloucestershire

Towards Central Wood

Uploader's Comments

The footpath from Seven Wells passes through the gate into Central Wood. There are signs in the wood indicating that the trees were planted in 1956/57. The (barely visible) track that runs across the front of the wood is part of the alignment of Ryknild Street, the Roman road that runs from the Fosse Way at Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire to Templeborough in South Yorkshire. The temporary dewpond reflects the trees.
