Braich-yr-hwch is a prominent grassy ridge rising to the mountain, Foel Hafod-fynydd; this flank overlooks Cwm-Llwydd which lies between Foel Hafod-fynydd and the main Aran mountain ridge. Aran Fawddwy is the distant peak.
