Yealmpton, par. and vil., Devon, on river Yealm, 6½ miles SE. of Plymouth, 3371 ac. and 108 tidal water and foreshore, pop. 932; P.O., T.O.; was anciently known as Yealhampton, and was an important place, with the status of a borough.
