Tring, market town and par., Herts, in W. of co., 5 miles NW. of Berkhampstead and 32 NW. of London by rail - par., 7846 ac., pop. 5357; town, 4154 ac., pop. 4354; P.O., T.O., 1 newspaper. Market-day, Friday. Strawplaiting, silk-throwing, and canvas-weaving are carried on, but not to such an extent as formerly. Tring Park is a seat of the Rothschilds.
