(containing the town of Goole), 34,146 ac., pop. 17,339; township (Snaith and Cowick), 5862 ac., pop. 1730; town, on S. bank of river Aire, 7 miles SW. of Goole, pop. 1106; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks. Market-day, Thursday. Snaith has malting and trade in agricultural produce; cattle fairs are held twice a year.
