Otterburn, township and vil., Elsdon par., Northumberland - township, 8563 ac., pop. 333; vil., on river Rede, 4½ miles N. of Woodburn sta. and 8 miles NE. of Bellingham; P.O., T.O.; near the vil. is Otterburn Dene, seat; about 1 mile W. of the vil. stands an obelisk, 25 ft. high, which is said to mark the spot where the Earl of Douglas fell at the battle of Otterburn (1388).
