Long Melford, small town and par. with ry. sta., Suffolk, 3 miles NW. of Sudbury, 5185 ac., pop. 3293; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank; has a large cattle fair, an iron foundry, and mfrs. of horse hair and cocoanut fibre. Melford Hall and Melford Place are ancient mansions.
