Kinloss, coast par. and vil. with ry. sta., NW. Elginshire--par., 5184 ac., pop. 1072; the vil. is near the SE. corner of Findhorn Bay, 3 miles NE. of Forres; Kinloss has remains of an abbey founded by David I. in 1150, or 1151, and destroyed in 1650 to provide materials for the erection of Cromwell's citadel at Inverness.
