Houston.-- vil., Houston and Killellan par., Renfrewshire, on Houston Burn, 6 miles NW. of Paisley, pop. 553; P.O.; has 2 ry. stations (Houston, on the Caledonian Ry., 3¼ miles E., and Houston or Crosslee, on the Glasgow and South-Western Ry., 1¾ mile SE.); in the vicinity, 2 miles NE. of Bridge of Weir sta., is Houston House, seat. The ruins of the old castle of the Houstons were used to build the present village in 1780.
