Northumberland, 6½ miles NE. of Alnwick -- par., 13,507 ac. and 452 tidal water and foreshore, pop. 2217; township, 2077 ac. and 84 foreshore, pop. 643; the vicarage is one of 3 in Northumberland that were fortified; it still has a machicolated tower.
