Chillingham, par., township, and vil., N. Northumberland, on river Till, 8 miles SW. of Belford ry. sta.-- par., 5003 ac., pop. 334; township, 1765 ac., pop. 138; S. of the vil. is Chillingham Castle, seat of the Earl of Tankerville, a castellated mansion, affording a striking example of domestic architecture of the time of Edward III. In C. Park, a remnant of the great forest which once extended from Dunkeld to Alnwick, is kept a herd of wild white cattle, like those at Cadzow.
