Whitebread Wood, East Sussex

Wood anemones (Anemone nemorosa) growing by the A268

Uploader's Comments

Driving towards Rye in early April we couldn't help noticing the numbers of wildflowers blooming along the roadside verges. The wood anemones in the picture were growing along a fairly narrow verge where the road passes through Whitebread Wood. Elsewhere, along more open stretches, there were cuckoo flowers (lady's smock) in good numbers.
