Walkers Hill, East Dorset

From Knap Hill to Adam's Grave

Uploader's Comments

This is an ancient landscape once favoured by prehistoric peoples such as those of the neolithic period, the bronze and the iron age. This land was probably favoured as it stood above the forested and less well drained valleys below, was easy for communication and offered places for habitation and defence. The photo position is at the western end of the neolithic camp on Knap Hill, whilst the 'pimple' on the far hill is the neolithic long barrow known as Adam's Grave.
