Upper Landywood, Staffordshire

Footpath in a replanted wood

Uploader's Comments

Following the closure of the opencast mines here in the 1980s [[277367]], much of the area has been replanted with woods or grassland. As you walk this particular stretch of path, the ground rises and falls in a series of wide ridges, clearly not a natural feature, and presumably part of the post-work landscaping.
