Thorngills Grove, North Yorkshire

Field barn above Askrigg

Uploader's Comments

The field barn is such a feature of the Yorkshire Dales that it is tempting to take such buildings for granted and assume that they will always be part of the scenery, but this one is typical in that the gable end is badly cracked on both sides indicating some subsidence. Only a matter of time before it suffers the same fate as the wall in the foreground. In the distance is Bainbridge and the long ridge leading up to Wether Fell.
