Old Tin Works, Carmarthen

Uploader's Comments

Jewsons now occupy what is left of the Carmarthen Tin Works. The footpath more or less follows the course of the old railway. It was along here in 1864 that David Rees, 84 years old and profoundly deaf, picked up his pension from the Tin Works, climbed over the wall and was promptly run down by a train that he had neither seen nor heard. He had been previously warned about crossing the railway.
