Taddington.-- eccl. dist., township, and mining vil., Bakewell par., Derbyshire, 5½ miles NW. of Bakewell - dist., pop. 486; township (Taddington and Priest-cliff), 3008 ac., pop. 408; P.O.; Taddington lays claim to being the highest village in England; in the church-yard is an ancient cross, said to be the work of the monks of Lindisfarne.
