This bus garage was built by United Automobile Services (then a Tilling company) in 1927 or 28. There were two decks, the upper one accommodating both double and single decker buses, the lower one where the tanker is going in single deckers only. When this photograph was taken in 1984, United were part of the National Bus Company and the distinctive company lettering had been replaced by the NBC standard. Within a few years, on privatisation, United ceased to exist and the bus garage was sold. [[4012916]] is a photograph of the building today.
