'Between Elephants', a Grizedale Forest sculpture

Uploader's Comments

This remarkable piece eluded us for some time despite several searches on different occasions. Our map suggests that it is beside the walkers' path up Farra Grain whereas it is actually some distance west of it. We only found it when some mountain bikers on a nearby route alerted us to it. Rather than being sculpted it actually appears to have been painted onto the outcrop and is the work of Iraida Cano from 1995. Photos on http://www.grizedalesculpture.co.uk/between-elephants/ (and the name?) suggest that there may be several elephants but we only saw this one.
