The John King Workshop Museum in Pinxton

Uploader's Comments

This Museum is dedicated to John King who in the 1860′s invented the mine cage safety detaching hook. The hook is still manufactured today and is fitted to the majority of winding ropes of deep mines of all kinds throughout the world. It has been responsible for saving the lives of countless miners. This is the very building where John King invented his hook and the museum is open on Sunday afternoons.
