Penmaen Melyn, Pembrokeshire

Old workings at Penmaenmelyn

Uploader's Comments

An old plan of this site shows two shafts within close proximity to each other with buildings part surrounding the site. Little remains now apart from this shaft and a few low walls. There is reputed to be an adit below which may be at or below sea level. This copper mine was a short lived affair, beginning operations in the 1820's and closing in 1836.
