Former London Underground Station

Uploader's Comments

Perhaps I am being a little misleading with the title. The building is that of Wescott station which was formally under the control of London Underground from 1933 until the closure of the railway in 1935. The railway was built in 1871 as a horse-drawn tramline to service the estates of the Duke of Buckingham. In 1972 it was upgraded so that locomotives could use it and a passenger service opened. It was taken over by the Metropolitan Railway in 1899 which was then taken into public ownership as the Metropolitan Line in 1933.
