Maentwrog, par. and vil. (ry. sta. Maentwrog Road), Merioneth, on river Dwyryd - par., 5465 ac., pop. 852; the vil., 3 miles SW. of Festiniog, is situated in the centre of a picturesque valley, and is visited by tourists; Archdeacon Prys, who translated the Psalms into Welsh, was rector.
